Preservation of our Residential Neighborhood
Greg Cirillo wants to keep our neighborhoods residential. Cirillo believes that safe neighborhoods begin with safe traffic patterns. He wants to make our residents concerns about their neighborhoods a priority for our board of commissioners.
Opposition of Bus Depot at Croyle Site
Greg Cirillo believes that parking the school buses at the Croyle site or the Welsh Valley Middle School site would be a safety issues for both our children and residents of these neighborhoods. He feels we need to locate a bus depot at a properly zoned non-residential area, therefore upholding the zoning integrity of our township for future zoning issues.
Lowering the Tax Burden
Cirillo was against the 2% tax increase to protect the township reserves in this years township budget. A quote from Mr. Cirillo in his Letter to the Editor in the Mainline Times June 7, 2007. "It's not the government's role to stockpile (taxpayer's) money."
Fiscal Responsibility
Greg Cirillo believes in fiscal discipline as it applies to local government spending. The ability to periodically equate revenues with expenditure is paramont to responsible governing.
Open space preservation
Greg Cirillo believes a township park will have an undeniably positive impact in Ardmore, a community currently under-served with open space. Greg believes the parking lot at Linwood and East Athens Avenue in Ardmore is a unique opportunity for Lower Merion to purchase a parking lot and making it into a park. The money is available in the County Open Space Fund and the lot is for sale.
Comprehensive Planning
Cirillo believes there is a need to update the decades old comprehensive plan. We need to keep in mind our residents concerns to blend the heritage of our community with plans for the future of the township. The right mix of historic preservation and modernization is essential for our community during this important planning process. |
